Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Music Industry Internship focusing on A&R (Artists and Repertoire) at an undisclosed record label located in Los Angeles, CA. The intern will assist with talent scouting, A&R research(including data analytics), coordinating sessions with artists/producers/writers, attending shows, analyzing music trends, drafting talent reports, & more. Responsibilities include attending industry events, conducting market research on current music trends, and helping to develop artist strategies for branding and growth. The intern will work closely with A&R representatives to ensure the successful promotion and development of artists. You will gain hands-on experience in the music and entertainment industry, working closely with industry professionals and cultivating valuable connections.
Qualifications:
• TASTE TASTE TASTE! This is something that can't be taught. Having a good taste in music, fashion, beats, etc. is the #1 trait we're searching for. We will vet based on curation and taste.
• Understanding culture, being able to stay up to date with music scenes across multiple genres. Knowledge of music trends, genres, and the ability to identify emerging talent
• Research and analysis skills to evaluate music and artist performance metrics
• Familiarity with how to set up and coordinate sessions for artists/producers/song writers.
• Strong passion for the Music Industry and talent development.
• Excellent organizational, research, and communication skills.
• A&R research; the ability to use streaming platforms, IRL events, social media, or A&R software to discover talent.
• Willingness to attend events and work flexible hours, including evenings
• Previous experience or coursework in a music-related field is a plus
Compensation Structure:
Interns must be eligible to receive academic credit for their participation. This is an unpaid internship with the potential for future paid opportunities based on performance and organizational needs.
