We are looking for a skilled Video Project Manager to see projects through from initial conception through to design and specification, and onto final delivery. The role requires a strong working knowledge of video systems, including but not limited to signal processing, LED, projection, camera systems and PPUs, playback solutions, and video switching, control, install and rigging. It also requires clear and regular communication within the company and with external suppliers and clients.
Responsibilities:
• Manage client relationships, working with them to plan, develop, and execute projects, assuming overall responsibility for completion on time and within budget.
• Maintain customer contact throughout the project duration, ensuring the project meets client expectations across the entire lifecycle.
• Enter and maintain orders in Rental Management Software (OnRent RMS) and communicate equipment requirements to Colour Sound Experiment operations teams.
• Develop relationships with technical staff across all departments and work with the Crew Booking Team to ensure every show is appropriately staffed.
• Monitor and coordinate logistics to ensure equipment and staff are on site when required.
• Work collaboratively with external suppliers to find cost-effective solutions for purchases and sub-hires when required.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of video systems used within the live events and entertainment industry.
• Produce detailed schematics per job for both power and signal.
• Report back at the end of each project on any shortfalls in working practices and possible improvements.
• Assist and oversee the technical preparation of equipment for events when required, ensuring it meets the company’s expected standards.
• Act as the company’s representative and manage the video department when on site.
• Actively engage in continuous improvement, ensuring suggestions and opportunities are highlighted.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, with supporting H&S documentation.
Technical Knowledge:
• Technical/electronics training and/or hands-on repair experience; a background in entertainment or corporate AV/lighting is preferred but not essential.
• Solid working knowledge of electronics, AC/DC principles, motion control, and digital communications (DMX/RDM, Ethernet-based protocols).
• Confident soldering/de-soldering skills and the ability to read and interpret PCB schematics.
• Ability to perform light mechanical assembly/disassembly on fixtures and related equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting mindset, with good attention to detail under time pressure.
• A team-first, self-motivated attitude, comfortable in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Must be legally authorised to work in the UK
Essential Experience:
• At least 1 year of video project management experience.
• At least 3 years of event video experience on-site.
• Strong understanding of video signal flow and system design.
• Must be able to reliably commute to our location
Skills and Attributes:
• Work is performed both in a warehouse setting and on-site at live events; exposure to typical warehouse and event conditions (noise, varying temperatures, extended hours).
• Ability to lift and carry equipment as required for technical preparation and on-site work.
• Occasional evening, weekend, or on-call availability may be required to support project schedules.
Salary depends on experience.
