SOCIAL MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

Sights & Sounds is seeking a creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Social Media & Communications Interns to support our marketing, communications, and public-facing strategy. We’re an independent event, music, and creative brand producing immersive electronic music experiences that blend sound, art, and community across NYC, Texas, Mexico City, and beyond.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the public voice of a fast-growing cultural brand — from content creation and PR campaigns to social media strategy and community engagement. This role is for someone who doesn’t wait to be told what to do and brings ideas to the table. You’ll work directly with the Co-Founder and collaborate with our Ads Manager, designers, videographers, photographers, and artist teams to help shape the public voice of a fast-growing cultural brand.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
📱 Support Social Media Strategy
• Draft, schedule, and publish posts across Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube
• Write high-quality captions and copy aligned with our brand voice (strong writing skills required)
• Assist our Ads Manager with creative assets and content for paid campaigns
• Proactively propose content ideas, themes, and social concepts
• Track analytics and engagement to help guide strategy and content pivots
• Stay up to date on relevant trends in electronic music, digital art, and culture
• Help plan marketing calendars and event rollouts
🎨 Coordinate Design & Media Assets
• Communicate directly with artist/DJ teams to gather content for promotion
• Work closely with in-house designers, videographers, and photographers
• Prepare marketing materials and visual content for upcoming events using Photoshop templates (experience required — strong proficiency expected)
• Assist with basic video edits in Premiere (or be willing to learn quickly)
• Organize, archive, and distribute assets across the team
• Attend events in-person to support content creation and live coverage
📢 Support PR & Brand Communications
• Draft press releases, newsletters, and event announcements
• Assist with press outreach and creative collaboration opportunities
• Help build media contact lists and coordinate with artist/DJ marketing teams
• Ensure consistent brand voice across external communications
🧠 Contribute to Creative Brainstorms & Brand Development
• Join team meetings and brainstorms for upcoming campaigns, event rollouts, and visual direction
• Contribute meaningfully in brainstorms (initiative is essential)
• Assist with tone, messaging, and creative storytelling around our shows, artists, and mission
• Propose content ideas, social themes, and new ways to engage audiences
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
✅ At least 2 years of college completed (or equivalent real-world experience)
✅ Strong understanding of social platforms — especially Instagram & TikTok
✅ Exceptional writing skills and strong attention to detail (you’ll be crafting captions and helping shape our brand voice)
✅ Excellent communication, copywriting, and visual storytelling skills
✅ Experience using Adobe Photoshop (required) and familiarity with (or willingness to learn) Adobe Premiere
✅ Organized, creative, and detail-oriented — with a sharp eye for content
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving, collaborative environment and proactively pitches ideas
✅ Comfortable working in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
✅ Passion for electronic music, digital art, and live events is a must
✅ Prior experience in marketing, PR, digital media, or supporting paid campaigns is a big plus
✅ Bonus if you’ve helped grow a brand or artist account, supported ad creatives, or created high-performing content
DETAILS:
• Unpaid internship with comped access to all events, artist showcases, and school credit (if applicable)
• Based in NYC — hybrid mix of remote + in-person hours depending on content schedule
• Attendance at select events is expected (for content purposes)
• Flexible hours with opportunity to grow within the brand
• Ideal start: Immediately
