The Company
Open On Sunday provides purchase and financing options to music rights holders, including artists, producers, songwriters, publishers and record labels. As we acquire new catalogs, accurate and timely royalty administration is central to protecting the value of these assets.
The Role
The Royalty Analyst will manage Open On Sunday's initial statement review and performance analysis trends for each catalog. This role reports to the Senior Royalty Accountant and partners with leadership for ongoing reporting.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Data Management: Download and organize large-scale royalty statements from record labels, publishers, and other stakeholder platform portals
• Reconciliation: Combine, format, and summarize royalty reports to reconcile against cash flow
• Compliance Review: Verify that earned royalties comply with the terms of the APA and stakeholder agreements (schedules, rates, shares, etc.)
• Royalty Recovery: Analyze data to identify any issues that cause underpayments and prepare claim schedules to present to stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies
• Reporting: Assist in preparing quarterly performance reports for each catalog to show how they are trending
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required
• 3-5 years of experience in music royalty accounting or audit
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of data analytics
• Familiarity with Luminate and Chartmetric data for review purposes
• Entertainment industry knowledge; must love music
• Extremely detail-oriented to create accurate and timely reports
