An exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join the New York office of a prominent international independent music publisher, Payday Publishing.
We are currently looking for a detail oriented, organised and problem-solving individual for the full-time position.
Key Duties
• Communicating with songwriters, managers, and other representatives to obtain and confirm complete and accurate copyright data and release information for all new works
• Adding new compositions into Payday's copyright/royalty systems
• Tracking, maintaining, and updating full-catalog metadata across Payday systems
• Confirming splits and copyright information internally and externally prior to registration
• Monitoring registration status and assisting with registrations at collection societies and other copyright organizations worldwide
• Performing catalog audits and registration reviews to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Providing documentation for worldwide counterclaims and copyright conflicts at collection societies and other organizations
• Responding to inquiries from Payday writers regarding registration status and general catalog matters
Qualifications
• University Degree required
• 2-4 years of music publishing copyright experience
• A comprehensive understanding of songwriter splits and registration procedures
• Basic familiarity with publishing/songwriter agreements and legal terminology
• Prior experience working with CWR files is preferable
• Counterpoint/Music Maestro/Curve (or equivalent software) experience
• Very strong organization skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to adhere to deadlines and handle multiple, diverse assignments
• Capacity to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Adept at identifying problems and figuring out solutions
• Prior admin role experience a plus (paralegal, legal assistant, data/rights management, etc.)
