Project Manager, Marketing Team, Pier Play

Freelance/Contract

Remote • Los Angeles, CA, USA

Category: Experiential/Brand Partnerships

RASA is the experiential technology platform built to launch and scale live events. We create immersive music festivals, exclusive social gatherings, and premium brand experiences that bring people together in the real world. From Pier Play on the Santa Monica Pier and Thrill City at Six Flags Magic Mountain to the Eiffel Tower, we unlock iconic spaces and turn them into cultural destinations, all powered by our own in-house software. To date, we've held 200+ events across 12 cities and built a community of 113,000+ people.
We're hiring a Project Manager to support our marketing team and keep our Pier Play campaign moving from first announcement to post-event recap.
This is a contract position starting in February and running through June.
You'll thrive here if you: are organized and proactive, don't mind following up (more than once), catch mistakes fast, like building systems that make messy processes easier, and stay calm when plans change last minute. You're internet-native and know how people find and talk about music, events, artists, and culture.
Responsibilities

  1. Local Market Research & Audience Growth
    • Research the local electronic music scene, broader entertainment landscape, competing events, major local happenings, and cultural trends that could influence demand.
    • Identify relevant audiences and communities, including nightlife networks, event organizers, college groups, local cultural organizations, waterfront enthusiasts, and younger entertainment audiences.
    • Recommend targeted ways to reach people unfamiliar with RASA or Pier Play.
    • Monitor audience response to announcements and campaigns, identify awareness gaps, and recommend tactics to build momentum.
  2. Grassroots Marketing & Promotional Partnerships
    • Build relationships with local businesses, organizations, student groups, creators, complementary events, and entertainment brands whose audiences align with Pier Play.
    • Develop proposals for promotional exchanges, giveaways, co-marketing, group sales, referrals, and street-team or ambassador initiatives.
    • Recommend where, when, and how to activate locally, including permitted poster, flyer, QR code, and community distribution opportunities.
    • Conduct approved outreach, help negotiate noncommercial promotional arrangements within established guidelines, and track partner commitments and audience engagement.
  3. Creative Campaigns, Activations & Artist Promotions
    • Develop original campaign concepts that reflect Pier Play's identity and waterfront setting, including pop-ups, surprise performances, scavenger hunts, community experiences, and unexpected collaborations.
    • Research suitable locations, collaborators, creators, and vendors for proposed activations.
    • Research artists' audiences, social presence, and local fan communities to recommend artist-led content and collaborations.
    • Develop promotional concepts for artist announcements, lineup reveals, event milestones, and final-week pushes.
    • Prepare proposals outlining the concept, target audience, potential reach, budget considerations, collaborators, and execution requirements.
    • Help secure partners for approved initiatives and plan content capture and organic distribution, including around sponsor activations.
  4. Campaign Coordination & Event-Week Support
    • Maintain the campaign project plan, track deadlines and dependencies, follow up on deliverables, and flag risks or blockers to marketing leadership.
    • Coordinate approved campaigns and pre-event and on-site activations with RASA's Marketing Coordinator, marketing leadership, operations teams, and external collaborators.
    • Confirm responsibilities, timelines, and final details with promotional partners, creators, ambassadors, and activation collaborators.
    • Identify timely opportunities for spontaneous content, community engagement, and promotional tactics beyond the existing campaign plan.
  5. Campaign Reporting & Post-Event Evaluation
    • Maintain organized records of outreach, partnerships, campaign activity, and completed activations.
    • Evaluate which initiatives generated meaningful awareness, engagement, or conversions using available data.
    • Gather event-week observations and partner or audience feedback, summarize results, and recommend improvements for future Pier Play campaigns.
  6. Post-Event Content Organization & Handoff
    Sponsor Content
    • Review contracted content requirements with RASA's sponsorship and partnerships team.
    • Identify, label, and organize photography and video featuring sponsor branding, products, activations, installations, and integrations.
    • Coordinate with creative and video editing teams on assets requiring edits, formatting, or additional processing.
    • Prepare organized handoffs for the sponsorship team to review and distribute, flagging missing contracted deliverables or gaps in coverage.

Artist & Stage Content
• Organize photography, footage, and approved edits into clearly labeled folders by artist and stage so teams can easily locate performance, crowd, and production content.
• Maintain an asset inventory, including artist or management approval requirements and outstanding content requests.
• Coordinate with the Marketing Coordinator on approvals and approved deliveries.
Experience
We're open to different backgrounds. Strong candidates may have approximately 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
• Event, experiential, music, festival, or entertainment marketing
• Artist marketing, digital marketing, or social media operations
• Marketing, campaign, or project coordination
• Agency account or project coordination
• Brand activations
