OVERVIEW
The Merchandise & Apparel Specialist is responsible for the planning and execution of apparel and merchandise across artists, tours, drops, pop-ups, and online stores. This role blends creative judgment with commercial thinking, contributing to decisions around what products to release, in what quantities, and at what price, while coordinating execution with creative and production partners.
This role is best suited for someone with strong taste, an interest in culture and trends, and a desire to learn how merchandise functions as a business. You understand what fans want to wear, what performs in live environments, and how creative decisions connect to revenue, while working closely with senior team members to bring ideas to life.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Merchandising Strategy & Execution
• Lead merchandising across artists, tours, drops, pop-ups, and online stores
• Define product mix, quantities, and pricing aligned with artist identity and fan demand
• Provide creative direction informed by apparel and culture trends
• Plan merch releases around touring and key moments
Retail & Commerce Operations
• Manage artist online merch stores, including product setup, merchandising, and customer service
• Execute store launches, updates, and takedowns around drops, tours, and pop-ups
• Ensure stores and live merch offerings align with current campaigns
• Monitor store and pop-up performance
Vendor & Production Coordination
• Act as a point of coordination for merch execution across internal teams and external partners
• Manage communication with merch companies and suppliers
• Oversee timelines to ensure merch lands on schedule
• Review samples and final goods for quality and consistency
Performance Tracking & Reporting
• Track inventory levels and sell-through across tours, drops, and stores
• Monitor costs, pricing, and margins to support sustainable merch growth
• Create post-tour and post-drop performance summaries and documentation of learnings
• Compile insights to help inform future assortments, pricing, and release planning
QUALIFICATIONS
• 1 to 3 years of experience in merchandise, design, apparel, production, or a related field
• Background in graphic design, fashion design, or creative production is a strong asset
• Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Good taste and awareness of trends in music, fashion, and culture
• Comfortable communicating with artists, vendors, and internal teams
• Proficient with Google Workspace; experience with Notion or inventory tools is a strong asset
• Willingness to work flexible hours around tours, drops, and live events
• Genuine interest in artist merchandise and live music culture; electronic or dance music experience is a plus
