About Us
EarthPercent (registered charity number 1188391) is the music industry's climate and nature foundation. We believe music is one of the most influential cultural forces in the world: artists alongside the music industry have a unique ability to shape public conversation, raise funds and inspire action for life on Earth. At a time when the climate and nature crisis are one of the greatest challenges ever faced, we work to harness that influence for meaningful impact and cultural change.
We invite artists and music organisations to support a growing fund for climate and nature solutions, enabling vital work around the world while building a stronger culture of action across the industry. Guided by our independent Expert Advisory Panels, we distribute funds to high-impact organisations that protect and restore nature, build more livable futures and support music.
Since launching, we have distributed more than $2.5 million to 31 organisations with the support of over 400 artists, industry and music businesses. But our work is more than funding: its beating heart is this growing community who believe music can play a meaningful role in creating change and use their influence and art to do so.
This is an exciting moment to join EarthPercent. We've built EarthPercent through trust, relationships and a genuine sense of love in our community - we're looking for someone who can continue to nurture and grow this with care and energy.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Working closely with our Head of Fundraising and Co-Directors, the Head of Community and Comms will be responsible for strengthening the connection between our community of donors, our network of industry supporters and the impact of our fundraising.
Predominantly working across communications and events, you will create meaningful opportunities for people to engage with EarthPercent, deepen relationships over time and inspire our audiences to take action for climate and nature, helping achieve long-term giving and advocacy.
It’s a role that combines leadership with hands-on delivery, as we are a small but growing team, and will play a key part in growing EarthPercent's reach, influence and impact across the music industry.
Community management
• Lead the growth and engagement of EarthPercent's community of artists, music industry professionals, supporters and partners.
• Work closely with the fundraising team to create meaningful in person and digital experiences, communications and pathways that deepen community engagement and encourage long-term support.
• Bring artists and music professionals together through programmes (like our pilot Artists4Earth programme), campaigns, learning opportunities and community spaces that build motivation to take action.
• Develop strong relationships with artists, managers, industry organisations and aligned partners, helping EarthPercent become a valued part of the industry
• Help track community engagement and impact, using insights to strengthen participation and inform organisational strategy
Communications
• Develop and lead EarthPercent's comms and marketing strategy, ensuring a clear, consistent and engaging voice across all channels.
• Shape how EarthPercent tells its story and communicates our mission to prospective and existing donors - turning complex strategy or issues into inspiring content.
• Keep supporters informed and connected through thoughtful communications that demonstrate impact and encourage ongoing involvement.
• Lead major communications based projects, including EarthPercent's annual Impact Report, working closely with colleagues across the organisation.
• Use data and audience insights to continually improve performance.
• Liaise with external communications support, agencies and freelancers where needed
Events and Public Engagement
• Lead the development and delivery of events and cultural moments that widen or deepen EarthPercent's community and public profile.
• Manage freelance contractors who will support coordination of events
• Work with fundraising colleagues to produce experiences (small events, dinners, gatherings) that support donor stewardship and relationship-building.
• Speak at conferences, industry events, panels and public discussions, acting as a confident and compelling ambassador for the organisation.
• Identify opportunities for EarthPercent to contribute to important conversations across music, climate and culture.
• Support senior leadership with presentations, speeches, media opportunities and external communications.
Benefits of Working With EarthPercent:
• Small, friendly team passionate about our mission
• Flexible, hybrid working; predominantly remote with 1-2 days a week in our West London office
• Cycle to Work scheme
Person Specification:
Essential
• Experience working in music, culture, and the creative industries.
• Experience building and engaging communities, audiences or supporter networks.
• An excellent communicator, both in writing and in person.
• Experience developing and delivering communications, social media content, press campaigns or engagement activities that bring people together and inspire action.
• Comfortable representing an organisation externally, whether at events, meetings, workshops or on industry panels.
• Organised, collaborative and excited by getting stuck in in a small team to help increase EarthPercent's impact at a pivotal point in our growth.
Desirable
• Experience being part of a charity or purpose-driven organisation.
• Experience supporting donor stewardship and fundraising communications
• Experience producing events, gatherings or community-led programmes.
• An understanding of climate, nature or social impact issues.
• Existing relationships within the music industry or adjacent sectors.
