Position Overview
We are looking for a Director of Business Strategy to act as a 2. In this role, you will support the leadership in architecting the label’s long-term growth and operational sustainability. Your focus will be on providing high-level business insights, evaluating major commercial contracts, and developing execution plans for new initiatives. This is a role for a "Strategic Thinker & Executor" who can bridge the gap between financial planning, legal frameworks, and real-world business growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Planning Support & P&L Analysis
• Financial Planning Support: Assist the VP of Operations in developing the label’s annual budgets and P&L targets.
• Performance Tracking: Support the monitoring of financial health and resource allocation, providing data-driven insights to optimize profitability.
• KPI Management: Assist leadership in establishing annual KPIs and building tracking mechanisms to ensure the label stays on course to meet its strategic goals.
• Business Development & Commercial Review
• Strategic Contract Review: Work closely with the Legal team to review major business contracts. Provide critical "business-side" input to ensure terms are strategically favorable and aligned with growth objectives.
• Deal Structuring: Support the structuring of new business deals, ensuring that commercial risks are identified and mitigated from a business perspective.
• Partnership Management: Maintain and cultivate relationships with key global/domestic partners, and identify new partners to improve revenue streams and operational reach.
• Strategy Formulation & Execution
• Long-term Growth Strategy: Develop actionable plans and long-term roadmaps for the label’s business growth and sustainability.
• New Business Initiatives: Conceptualize and evaluate new business models or revenue opportunities, drafting implementation plans for executive review.
• Process Optimization: Identify areas within the label’s current business cycle that can be improved for better efficiency and long-term scaling.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Business Administration or related field 
• Music Industry Expertise: 8-10+ years of professional experience specifically within a Music Label environment.
• Specialized Experience: A proven track record in Business Development or Business Strategy specifically for Music Labels. Candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of label-specific revenue streams, royalty structures, and industry-standard deal terms.
• Business Acumen: Strong ability to provide critical business-side input on legal contracts and financial documents, bridging the gap between legal/finance and label operations.
• Language: Professional fluency in both Korean and English is mandatory (written and verbal).
• Leadership & Influence: Experience in managing complex projects and influencing cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals.
**It’s a bonus if you have **
• MBA, PMP, or equivalent professional certification
• Experience in business operations or project management in the entertainment (preferably music and talent management) industry
• Ability to work with several levels of an organization in parallel, including ensuring quality implementation

Salary Range
The salary range for this job is $120,000-$135,000. This is a good faith effort at the time of posting. This range is base salary only and does not include benefits and any other compensatory components of the role.
