Internship Overview:
Fractal is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented A&R Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in artist discovery, music research, and creative development. This internship is open to current college students eligible for academic credit, as well as recent graduates and non-students with relevant industry experience who are eager to gain hands-on experience in artist development.
As an A&R Intern, you will work closely with our team to identify rising artists, songwriters, and producers, research emerging music trends, and assist with creative projects for our roster. This role is ideal for someone who is plugged into music culture, understands streaming trends, and has a diverse sonic palette. 
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Music Discovery & Research
**• **Identify emerging artists, songwriters, and producers across platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Track rising music trends, viral moments, and industry shifts to help inform artist development strategies.
• Compile weekly reports on new releases, streaming stats, and noteworthy artist breakthroughs.
Demo & Music Submission Review
**• Organize and review incoming demos and song submissions, providing feedback where applicable.
• Maintain an updated database of potential collaborators for Fractal artists and producers.
• Assist in playlist curation and reference track organization for upcoming projects.
Studio & Creative Support
• Help coordinate writing and recording sessions, including scheduling and communication with artists/producers.
• Assist in tracking song progress, session notes, and metadata for new music.
• Work alongside the team to brainstorm and develop creative ideas for artist projects.
** Industry Research & Reporting
**• **Stay up to date with streaming data, billboard charts, playlist placements, and music analytics.
• Compile A&R research decks summarizing promising new talent and market trends.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in, a recent graduate of, or with relevant experience in a related field (e.g., Music Business, Communications, Marketing). Open to non-students with industry experience.
• Flexible schedule, including availability to attend evening industry events when needed.
• Strong passion for artist development, music discovery, and industry trends.
• Knowledge of Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, SoundCloud, and music analytics platforms is a plus.
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience or internships in music A&R, artist management, or music marketing is a plus.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Internship Details
• Duration: 3-6 months for school credit (open to recent graduates and non-students as well)
• Hours: Minimum 3 days per week (15 hours total).
• Location: Based in Los Angeles, CA (hybrid/remote options may be discussed).
