About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and reliable Studio Engineer Intern who is passionate about music production and recording. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional recording environment while working alongside artists, producers, songwriters, and engineers.
While this is an entry-level position, applicants should already have a basic understanding of recording fundamentals and be comfortable operating a DAW.
Responsibilities
• Assist engineers and producers during recording sessions.
• Set up and break down recording sessions efficiently.
• Set up microphones, stands, headphones, DI boxes, and signal routing.
• Prepare sessions in Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live.
• Run basic recording sessions under supervision.
• Label and organize session files, backups, and exports.
• Troubleshoot basic audio issues during sessions.
• Keep the studio clean, organized, and session-ready.
• Help manage studio equipment and inventory.
• Assist with client hospitality and general studio operations.
Required Qualifications
• Basic knowledge of at least one professional DAW (Pro Tools preferred; Logic Pro or Ableton acceptable).
• Understanding of recording signal flow.
• Ability to properly set up microphones for vocals and common instruments.
• Familiarity with audio interfaces, preamps, headphones, and studio monitors.
• Basic understanding of gain staging and recording levels.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as sessions require.
• Reliable transportation to and from the studio.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience recording artists or bands.
• Basic editing skills (comping vocals, cleaning tracks, session organization).
• Familiarity with analog outboard gear and patch bays.
• Knowledge of MIDI, virtual instruments, and session templates.
• Music production or audio engineering coursework.
