The Opportunity
Cuttin' Headz is in a pivotal moment of expansion. As we restructure our operations to scale into a global cultural powerhouse, we need a digital architect to build our voice. We are looking for a Social Media Marketing Manager who is not just a "poster," but a storyteller, a strategist, and a culture-shifter. This is not a maintenance role; it is a "builder" role. You will work directly with the founders, the Label Manager, and the core team to translate the label’s sonic identity into a visual and digital universe. You will be empowered to take full ownership of the label’s social presence, driving community growth, engagement, and conversion across all platforms.
Job Description (What You'll Do)
You will serve as the voice and visual lead of Cuttin' Headz, responsible for the strategy, execution, and analytics of our digital footprint.
Digital Strategy & Brand Voice: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the label’s multi-year business plan. Define and refine the brand voice—ensuring it remains authentic, New York-rooted, and tastemaker-approved while scaling to a global audience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the digital linchpin between departments. You will partner with Performance Marketing teams to align organic creative with paid ad strategies, collaborate with Content Strategists to refine narrative arcs, and work alongside Public Relations teams to amplify press moments and maximize media coverage.
Content Engine & Curation: Act as the Editor-in-Chief of our feeds. Conceptualize, create, and curate high-quality, "scroll-stopping" content (Reels, TikToks, Static, Stories) that promotes releases, tours, merchandise, and the Cuttin' Headz lifestyle. You must be able to turn a 2-hour DJ set into 15 viral moments.
Analytics & Dashboard Management: Go beyond vanity metrics. You will own dashboard management, monitoring performance data daily to track growth and engagement. You must be capable of translating complex KPIs and analytics into actionable insights, providing the executive team with clear reporting that informs future creative and business decisions.
Community Architecture: You are not just managing followers; you are building a fandom. Engage deeply with our audience, other artists, and the broader electronic music culture. Turn passive listeners into active brand evangelists through community management, comment engagement, and interactive storytelling.
Trend Spotting: Keep a pulse on the "now." Identify emerging industry trends, audio memes, and visual aesthetics within the underground scene and adapt them for the brand in real-time.
Who We're Looking For (Qualifications)
We are looking for a seasoned digital native who lives and breathes this music and understands the nuances of digital culture.
Non-Negotiable:
Pop Culture & Entertainment Fluency: You are obsessed with the broader entertainment landscape. You stay on top of pop culture trends—from fashion to memes to film—and get genuinely excited about translating those cultural moments into content that resonates with our audience. You understand how to bridge the gap between niche underground culture and mass entertainment appeal.
Proven Growth Experience: You have a demonstrable track record (3-5+ years) of managing and scaling social accounts for music labels, entertainment brands, or high- profile talent.
Strategic & Analytical Mindset: You are data-literate. You understand how to read a dashboard, interpret the story behind the numbers, and pivot strategy based on real-time performance marketing feedback.
Encyclopedic Scene Knowledge: You have a deep, authentic, and "on-the-ground" understanding of the global underground dance music scene. You know the difference between a warehouse party in Brooklyn and a beach club in Ibiza—and you know how to speak to both audiences.
The "Eye": You have an impeccable visual aesthetic. You understand that in 2026, the vibe is just as important as the information. You can spot bad kerning or off-brand imagery from a mile away.
Credentials & Skills:
• 3-5+ years in a Social Media or Digital Marketing role at a record label, agency, or media company.
• Experience working collaboratively with Performance Marketing and PR agencies.
• Expert-level understanding of the social ecosystem: Algorithm changes, copyright nuances, monetization tools, and paid social best practices.
• Strong copywriting skills—you can write captions that are witty, concise, and culturally relevant.
• Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere) and mobile-first editing apps (CapCut).
