An independent music artist is seeking a creative, social-media-savvy college student interested in gaining hands-on experience in music marketing, social media, and digital audience growth.This is an opportunity to work directly on an independent music project and gain practical experience developing content, analyzing performance, and experimenting with social strategies.
Job Summary
The Social Media & Music Marketing Intern will assist with weekly content planning, social media scheduling, short-form video editing, trend research, and performance analysis.The ideal candidate is someone who lives on social media, understands current internet culture, follows music closely, and is excited to learn what makes content perform.
Responsibilities
• Participate in a weekly strategy meeting to review performance and plan upcoming content
• Schedule and publish social media content
• Edit provided short-form video content
• Write/refine captions and optimize posts for discoverability
• Research current social media trends, formats, and sounds
• Review basic analytics and identify successful content
• Bring at least one original content idea or experiment each week
• Assist with developing content focused on music discovery and audience growth
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in college or university
• Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, and short-form content
• Very plugged into current social media trends and internet culture
• Interest in music, music marketing, or artist development
• Creative and comfortable pitching new ideas
• Basic video editing experience (CapCut, Premiere, or similar)
• Organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently
Role Details
• Compensation: $500/month + performance bonuses
• Time Commitment: Approximately 4–5 hours/week, maximum 16–20 hours/month
• Schedule: Flexible, with one weekly strategy meeting
This is intentionally a part-time internship with clearly defined hours. No overtime, weekend/evening work, or availability outside the agreed schedule is expected.
