The Role
Own Medallion’s social presence end-to-end, create scroll-stopping content, engage niche communities, surface ideas that amplify our cultural reach all with the goal to drive app downloads.
This is a short-term independent contractor engagement:
• Anticipated duration ~3 months
• 10 hrs/week
• $1,500/month
What You’ll Do
Create Social Content
• Own all Medallion social accounts (Instagram, TikTok, and more)
• Produce ~3 social posts per week (including short form video)
• Showcase app features, exclusive artist content, music culture, and artist stories in a way that excites fans
• Test hooks, formats, and messaging to see what resonates
Community Management
• Manage Medallion’s voice on Instagram and TikTok
• Participate authentically in Discords, Reddit, and other niche music communities
• Identify trends and cultural signals that could grow awareness
Surface Growth Opportunities
• Suggest micro-influencers, small paid campaigns, or IRL activations worth testing
• Flag cultural moments, trends, events, or communities we should explore
Who You Are
• Music-Obsessed: You have an encyclopedic knowledge of music culture, you go to dozens of concerts a year and believe in the mission of artist independence
• Chronically Online: You understand internet subcultures and know how to weaponize trends for growth
• Smart & Scrappy: You are a self-starter who can turn a small budget or a simple idea into a high-engagement moment
• Analytical: You’re comfortable analyzing engagement and growth metrics to inform data-backed decisions
Requirements
• Experience in a Social Media Marketing role
• Can independently & rapidly create short-form content
• US based, ideally in NYC (we can go to shows together!)
