Company: Mutual Friends
Term: Summer
Compensation: Unpaid (For Academic Credit Only)
About Us
Mutual Friends is a music company (artist management and record label) based in New York City and Los Angeles. We're passionate about building meaningful, long-term careers for artists and connecting them with their audiences in impactful ways. We specialize in marketing, branding, touring, social media, A&R, and many other verticals that help build well-rounded, established brands for our artists.
About the Internship
We're looking for a summer intern fully focused on digital and social marketing. This role lives on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts, and the day-to-day is hands-on posting, fan account ownership, and community engagement across our roster.
If you live online, know what's working on TikTok before everyone else, and have experience running fan pages, edit accounts, or third party communities, this is the role for you. You'll get real ownership over accounts, real reps posting on behalf of artists, and real input on how we show up across platforms.
Applicants must be eligible to receive college credit.
Responsibilities
• Take ownership of multiple TikTok accounts (artist-tied and fan-facing) and post daily content
• Run and grow artist fan pages and HQ accounts (TikTok, Instagram, broadcast channels)
• Build out and maintain third party fan pages and communities tied to specific artists, releases, and tours
• Engage daily across artist comment sections, Reels, and TikToks (stickers, photos, gifs, replies, the full toolkit)
• Edit and post short-form video content for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Pitch in on release rollouts with native posting ideas, edit angles, and trend-driven hooks
• Track what's working across accounts and bring back recaps, trend reports, and ideas for what to try next
• Support fan moments tied to releases, tours, and announcements (countdowns, drops, fan reposts, etc.)
• Help build and organize digital assets so everything stays clean and on-brand across platforms
Requirements
• Available 20+ hours per week
• Eligible to receive college credit
• Active and fluent on TikTok, Instagram, and short-form platforms in general
• Experience running a fan page, edit account, HQ page, or third party community is a major plus
• Comfortable with video editing tools (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut) and design tools (Canva, Photoshop, Figma)
• Strong taste, a feel for what's culturally moving, and a self-starter mindset
• Reliable, organized, and good at communicating across a remote team
What You'll Gain
• Real ownership over accounts and posting strategy at a growing music company
• Hands-on experience building artist fan communities from the ground up
• A close-up look at how releases, tours, and campaigns get rolled out across digital
• One-on-one mentorship and direct contributions to high-level projects
• A portfolio of accounts, edits, and campaigns you can point to after the internship
To Apply
Send your resume, a short cover letter, and links to anything relevant (fan pages or edit accounts you've run, edits you've made, socials, design work, etc.) to contact@mutualfrnds.com with the subject line [Summer Internship 2026 Application]. Tell us a little about yourself, what music you're loving right now, and what fan accounts or creators you think are doing it best.
