Position Summary
The Security Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of venue security and event operations before, during, and after events for Splendid Sun Productions and Lowbrow Palace. This role leads a team of security personnel, develops event security plans, maintains venue cleanliness and presentation throughout events, coordinates emergency response procedures, and works closely with venue management, production staff, promoters, and local emergency services to ensure every event is safe, clean, and successful.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who leads by example, remains calm under pressure, and understands that safety, cleanliness, and exceptional guest service go hand in hand.
Responsibilities
• Lead, supervise, and schedule all venue security personnel.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate security staff.
• Develop event-specific security and staffing plans.
• Conduct pre-show security briefings and assign post locations.
• Oversee guest entry, bag checks, credential verification, and access control.
• Monitor crowd behavior and respond quickly to disturbances, medical incidents, or emergencies.
• Coordinate artist, backstage, and VIP security.
• Complete detailed incident reports and recommend operational improvements.
• Work closely with venue management, production, promoters, EMS, police, and fire personnel during events.
• Ensure venue policies, safety regulations, and emergency procedures are consistently followed.
**Event Operations & Venue Maintenance **
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the venue throughout each event.
• Monitor and restock restroom supplies, including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other essential items.
• Ensure restrooms remain clean, sanitary, and guest-ready during events.
• Change trash bags throughout the venue, including public areas, backstage spaces, and all bar locations as needed.
• Assist with resetting artist green rooms before and after each performance.
• Assist with room resets and venue reconfigurations between events, including furniture placement and event setup changes.
• Work alongside operations and production staff to ensure all guest-facing areas remain clean, safe, and operational throughout the event.
• Identify and address facility issues that could impact guest safety or the overall event experience.
**Required Qualifications **
• Minimum 5 years of security experience.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Experience in concerts, festivals, sports, nightlife, or other high-volume entertainment venues.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Willingness to perform both leadership and hands-on operational responsibilities.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
**Preferred **
• Texas Level III or Level IV Security License.
• CPR/AED Certification.
• Experience managing large crowds and live events.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and incident management.
• Military or law enforcement background is a plus but not required.
