**Kickstand Productions **seeks applicants for a newly created **Production Manager / Administrative Assistant **position in Michigan. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of professional experience in the concert promotion and production field, or applicable secondary education, with a basic understanding of the entertainment business. This is a company built and operated by fans of live music, and this new hire’s understanding of music genres and trends is absolutely crucial to the success of the position. Ideal candidates should currently spend time at concerts of various genres across the state of Michigan.
LOCATION: Must be based within a comfortable driving distance of our Detroit area venues (which are located in Detroit, Ferndale, Hamtramck, Wyandotte, Ann Arbor)
STATUS: Part-time, average of 30 hours per week, with occasional weeks that could be more or less based on our event calendar. This could (but is not promised to) eventually become a full-time position.
START DATE: Fall 2026
BENEFITS: Unlimited sick time, 7 days paid vacation yearly, 4 weeks paid maternity/paternity leave
We will choose a creative, passionate, music-loving individual who has experience in the live music industry. Basic graphic design knowledge is a plus, but not required. Applicants should also have a working knowledge of Gmail, Google Drive, Dropbox, Wordpress, and email marketing programs like MailChimp, Constant Contact, or Hive. A basic understanding of concert production and/or ticketing will also help applicants succeed in this role, but advanced understanding of the technicalities of live sound and lighting is not required. This person should be a natural leader, friendly and personable, confident, relaxed under pressure, and good with numbers, with experience handling money.
Job duties may change over time, but below is a general guide to what the job of **Production Manager and Administrative Assistant **will entail at KSP. Some of these may be shared duties with other members of the KSP team.
**EVENT WORK **
**● Act as the on-site representative for Kickstand Productions at our events. **
**● Coordinating with tour managers and venue managers to fulfill the production needs of our various events. **
**● Shopping riders and fulfilling artist hospitality needs. **
**● Handling cash and coordinating ticketing and patron check-in with venue box office staff. **
● Helping venue teams to physically prepare spaces for events, including moving tables, chairs, and other fixtures as needed.
**● Filling out settlement paperwork, calculating artist, staff, and subcontractor payments, and writing checks as needed. **
**● Gathering and filing of tax paperwork for artists and subcontractors. **
**● Helping venue staff deal with issues that come up with artists and customers, directing security, and protecting KSP, venue, and artist assets. **
● Coordinating with photographers and videographers to capture content as needed.
**● Assisting with the distribution of materials and cash to other Production Managers for future events. **
**● Assistance in-person with marketing tasks at our events across the state. **
**OFFICE WORK **
● Assisting with the advance process for events and coordinating with KSP’s talent buying team.
● Processing artist contracts & riders
**● Building ticket links on our primary ticketing system, which also pushes to our website. **
**● Gathering, uploading, and organizing email contacts gathered from shows. **
**● Printing and distribution of tickets. **
**● Compiling ticket counts. **
**● Building relationships with potential partners and sponsors for KSP events. **
**● Attending weekly company meetings on ZOOM as required and occasional in-person meetings in Michigan. **
**This position is based in southeastern lower Michigan. Kickstand may develop an office in the near future, likely in the Metro Detroit area, but this position does allow for work-from-home for the bulk of general office tasks. We do require all members of the team to have and maintain reliable transportation, and to be present at events across the state of Michigan as needed, which are located in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, and other Michigan markets. **
