Job Description
The Operations Manager at Garcia’s NYC is responsible for executing and overseeing all floor activities related to dining, bar service, and live entertainment on any assigned shift. This role requires a hands-on leader who understands the rhythm of a live music venue as much as a restaurant, and who can keep service running smoothly through high volume show nights and compressed turnaround windows.
Specifically, duties include directing and supporting all staff members on the floor to maximize the efficiency and productivity of our team, and making critical decisions and judgment calls to ensure the satisfaction and comfort of our guests. The Operations Manager must regularly interface with the Director of Operations, the General Manager, the rest of the management team, the floor and bar staff, the kitchen, the production staff, the artists, and the guests to execute service and entertainment in the manner set forth by Garcia’s standard operating procedures and company guidelines.
Additional duties, including but not limited to administrative work, departmental work, staff training, and policies and procedures development, are also integral parts of the Operations Manager position.
Responsibilities
❖ Provide direction to the floor and bar staff under the established protocol of Garcia’s policies and standard operating procedures
❖ Communicate clearly and frequently with the floor staff, bar, kitchen, production, and management before, during, and after each shift to ensure optimal service to our guests

❖ Be a visible presence in the room to both staff and guests, ready to step in and address issues at any moment
❖ Be responsible for ensuring guests are satisfied through both team leadership and face-to-face guest interaction
❖ Resolve any disputes regarding service, payment, or other matters on an as-needed basis
❖ Coordinate dinner service, bar service, and show flow so that seating, ordering, and food delivery work around set times, doors, and changeovers
❖ Assist in the planning and execution of nightly shows, special events, private events, and VIP guest services
❖ Participate in the development of managers’ notes detailing the day’s financial and qualitative aspects of the venue’s operations on each shift
❖ Ensure quality of food and beverage, timeliness of food delivery, and cost control during service
❖ Assist with point of sale operations during service, including voids, comps, and end-of-night closeout
❖ Maintain safety and security of the room and the guests and employees within, and carry out emergency evacuation plans as needed
❖ Ensure that lighting, temperature, music, cleanliness, and other environmental aspects of the room are appropriate for our guests
❖ Observe staff and participate in management talent reviews and employee reviews
❖ Conduct and oversee training of new staff and continuing education
❖ Assist on an as-needed basis with the management and operations of individual departments, including service, bar, kitchen, security, facilities, production, and training
Qualifications
❖ Minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory or management role in a live music venue, restaurant, or similar F&B setting
❖ Passionate about the hospitality industry, food, and live music
❖ Superior communication skills
