The Role:
This internship will be focused on artist services, currently supporting 15 independent artists and growing! The right candidate must be interested in learning about the intricacies of rights and metadata management, be curious about all aspects of music business (both recorded music and publishing), and have a keen eye for detail. The intern selected for this role will work with, and be mentored by, founder Natalie Jacobs.
The Tasks:
The following are examples of the type of work regularly conducted, but will vary depending on client needs.
• Conducting detailed metadata research and review
• Registering musical assets with industry entities (such as Performance Rights Organizations)
• Conducting asset matching and claiming with industry entities (such as The MLC and SoundExchange)
• Reviewing and summarizing artist related contracts
• Setting up artist album pages in BandCamp and DISCO
• Preparing social media ready content
• Royalty statement review and analysis
The Skills:
• Must have excellent written communication skills
• Extremely detail-oriented
• Curious and ready to ask questions
• Current enrollment in a music business program is preferred
The Details:
• This position is remote and flexible hours
• Starts the week of September 6th and runs through the week of December 7th
• Time commitment of 8-10 hours/week
Candidate must be eligible to receive college credit
