Run Things

Junior A&R / Marketing Coordinator

Full time

Remote

USD 50000.00 - 100000.00

Salary: USD 50000.00 - 100000.00 monthly

Category: Artist/Label Services

Before You Apply
An honest note about this job.
A&R at an independent label is not a comfortable seat. There's no big-company machinery here. No department to hand things off to, and no process to hide behind. When we sign an artist, we guide them all the way from the time the song is just a demo, to when it's on the top of the Billboard charts.
The people who thrive in this position aren't in it because they think it's 'cool' to work in the music industry or are in it for the money. They do it because they genuinely love working with artists, and love helping them turn their ideas into a reality without needing the credit.
About Run Things
Run Things is an independent label under Broke Records and Create Music Group. Home to Tiffany Day, Inji, Campthehills, Fetty P Franklin, and more. Our mission is to create an ethos that feels frictionless to the artist and their team. An environment where artists can run and move freely, maintaining complete and utter independence while working with a team that keeps up at their pace.
The artist & their teams should never feel like they can only get in communication with you Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. This is a role that requires dedication to completing tasks as they come up, working the same hours as our artists.
The Role
You'll be finding artists before anyone else knows who they are, then working closely with them and putting the right resources around them so that they can make the best music and creative imaginable. This is a full-cycle executive seat: scouting, signing, and marketing the artist - from the first voice memo, to the execution on a marketing campaign.
We're looking for 3+ years of music industry experience across marketing and A&R, or a track record strong enough that the years don't matter. Either is fine. We care about people who have the eagerness to just build.
What You'll Do
• Source unsigned artists through music discovery platforms, playlists, social media, and your own network.
• Meet with artists and their teams, build genuine relationships, and rep the label credibly.
• Know what's happening in the culture before it shows up in a chart.
• Create marketing plans and oversee the execution of them, ensuring the music and artist's have the best possible chance at succeeding.
What We're Looking For
• Receipts: artists you found early, decisions you made that turned out right - and decisions that turned out wrong, and what you learned from them. Everyone in the world has misses; we trust people who can talk about theirs.
• Someone with a feel for new and emerging artists while knowing about the already established ones, and the judgment to know which signals are real.
• Strong relationships with lawyers, managers, producers, or artists.
• Strong work ethic, attentive to detail, and eagerness to build things. This is a role that wears a lot of hats and the responsibility is endless.
What You Get
• Real signing input at a label small enough that your input actually matters
• Competitive salary plus upside tied to the artists you bring in - when the artists win, you win with them.
How to Apply
Send us four things:
• Who you are and what is something that you recently built or created? This can be a website, playlist, fanpage, song, etc.
• What did YOU do - not your team, not your company - on the biggest record you touched?
• Three artists/records you were early on, with proof
• Five artists you would sign right now.
