Summary
The Human Resources and Onboarding Generalist will play a central role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations across our Taproom and Theatre. This position oversees HR and administrative functions, supporting employee onboarding, payroll, and day-to-day operational processes, while collaborating closely with the Operations, Finance, and Hospitality teams. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Essential Functions
• Drive the employee onboarding process, including managing new hire paperwork, verifying identification, distributing training materials, and introducing staff to company policies and culture
• Support employee retention by fostering positive employee experiences, providing HR guidance, and assisting with benefits administration
• Conduct on-site intake for new hires and ensure accurate, timely entry of employee information into HR and payroll systems
• Support bi-monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy for new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments
• Maintain organized and up-to-date employee files, ensuring smooth communication of HR-related information between management and staff
• Assist with maintaining job postings, updating job descriptions, and supporting recruitment efforts
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment, payroll, and wage laws; recommend and implement policy updates to maintain best practices
• Reconcile POS-reported tip revenue with employee hours to support accurate financial reporting
• Provide HR support to staff and management, contributing to a positive workplace culture and the operational needs of the organization
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of Human Resources experience
• Experience with payroll systems; Toast experience preferred
• Experience with POS reporting systems; Toast experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills
• Restaurant or hospitality experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively
• Thorough and detail-oriented approach to administrative work and documentation
