ACTS Music Group
ACTS Music Group is one of the leading independent music companies in the Asia Pacific region, headquartered in Melbourne with an on-the-ground team across New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Asia and Africa. We provide distribution, publishing, management and touring services to hundreds of artists and labels worldwide.
Fully independent and privately owned.
The role
We're looking for an experienced A&R to help grow ACTS across the Asia region.
Reporting directly to the company director, you'll be responsible for discovering and signing artists, labels and strategic partners, while helping strengthen our presence across key international markets. You'll work closely with our distribution, marketing and management teams to support existing artists, identify new opportunities and build long-term industry relationships.
This role is as much about people as it is music. You'll spend your time building relationships with artists, managers, labels, publishers and DSPs, while representing ACTS at meetings, showcases and industry events throughout the region. Occasional international travel will form part of the role.
Day to day, it's a mix of A&R, artist relations, partnership development, release planning and helping artists build sustainable careers.
Working at ACTS
ACTS is built around long-term partnerships with artists and labels. We move quickly, keep decision making close to the people doing the work, and give our team the autonomy to make things happen.
You'll work directly with the full team, have genuine influence over the artists and partnerships we bring into the business, and play a key role in the continued growth of the company across Asia Pacific.
What we're looking for
• Experience in A&R, artist management, label management, distribution or a similar music industry role
• A genuine ear for music and strong instincts for identifying artists with long-term potential
• Strong relationships across the music industry, or the ability to build them quickly
• Confidence working with artists, managers, labels, publishers and DSPs
• A solid understanding of release strategy and the modern music industry
• Highly organised, self-motivated and comfortable working independently
• Willingness to travel internationally on occasion
• Melbourne-based preferred
Why ACTS
This is an opportunity to join one of the Asia Pacific's leading independent music companies and help shape its next stage of growth.
You'll have direct access to artists and decision makers, genuine ownership over your work, and the opportunity to build relationships throughout the region while helping discover and develop the next generation of artists.
Full-time. Melbourne preferred. Open to Sydney, Singapore, Manila, Jakarta or Seoul for the right candidate.
