We focus primarily on grant writing, working with independent artists, record labels, management companies, non-profit organizations and festivals to secure funding for their projects and businesses. Permanent, Full-time, in-person at Bathurst and Davenport
Typical Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm 
Annual Pay Range: $45,000-$50,000

Thirsty Pretzels is hiring a full-time Grant Writing Coordinator to support our growing roster of 100+ artists, festivals and companies. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build a career in the music industry from the ground up. You will be responsible for day-to-day administrative work and smaller funding applications for emerging artists from start to finish, while supporting our team on larger, more complex applications for established artists, companies and festivals. Grant writing builds knowledge across virtually every facet of the music industry, since we need to understand how artist projects are conceived and executed from top to bottom to best serve our clients. We see this as a position with room to grow. The goal is for the right person to develop into a full Grant Writer role over the course of the first year.

Responsibilities
• Provide general administrative support across the team, including scheduling, file management, and tracking application deadlines and outcomes.
• Prepare, write, and submit smaller, more straightforward grant and funding applications.
• Assist senior staff on larger and more complex applications, including research, drafting, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare reports for clients, including interim and final grant reports.
• Creation, refinement and updating of internal organization tools and external support resources.

• Develop the skills to prepare and manage full grant proposals for music projects.
• Build practical experience handling album and tour budgets.
• Gain insight into release timelines, tour management, artist promotional strategies, and project planning.
• Learn how to engage with clients and move projects forward.
• Build your professional network by interacting directly with artists, managers, booking agents, business managers and label teams.
• Progress toward a full Grant Writer role, handling client relationships and larger applications directly.

Qualifications
• Completed post-secondary education, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong organizational and written communication skills.
• A genuine interest in the music industry and a willingness to learn.
• Comfort working independently and managing multiple deadlines.
• Familiarity with Excel and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.) is required.
• Familiarity with Canva and/or Adobe Suite is a plus.
• Prior grant writing or arts administration experience is a plus.
