ABOUT RIGHT CLICK
Right Click is a talent management and media company representing 150+ talent across music, creators, and digital culture. We manage artists, produce live events, and build experiential and brand campaigns. Merchandise and direct-to-consumer are core revenue lines for our talent, we'd rather internalize it versus hiring out.
THE ROLE
We are hiring a Global Merchandising Director to own the entire merchandise business for a high-profile touring music artist - sourcing, manufacturing, fulfillment, ecommerce, and live. This is a build-and-operate role, not a maintenance role.
You will own a global manufacturing network, a multi-region fulfillment footprint, the online store, and the tour merch operation as one connected P&L. You will be accountable for margin, sell-through, and hitting hard release and tour dates. You report directly to our Founder & CEO and work alongside management, tour production, creative, and finance.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Global Sourcing & Manufacturing
• Source, vet, negotiate, and manage manufacturers by region - North America, EU/UK, APAC, LATAM, and Oceania - matching each product category to the right factory instead of forcing one vendor to do everything.
• Own tech packs, sampling, pre-production approvals, QC standards, and inspection protocols. Nothing ships without an approved sample.
• Negotiate pricing, MOQs, tooling, lead times, and payment terms. Build redundancy so a single factory delay never kills a drop or a tour date.
• Manage compliance and ethical sourcing: factory audits, labor standards, materials and chemical compliance, and country-of-origin documentation.
• Own landed-cost modeling - duty, tariffs, freight, HTS classification, and route production to protect margin as trade conditions change.
Fulfillment & Logistics
• Select and manage multiple 3PL and fulfillment partners across regions so delivery times and shipping costs stay competitive in every major market.
• Own inventory across all nodes: allocation, replenishment, inter-node transfers, safety stock, and end-of-life sell-down.
• Own inbound freight and customs clearance, including importer-of-record structures, VAT registration requirements, and DDP versus DDU decisions by market.
• Set and hold SLAs on pick-and-pack accuracy, ship windows, damage rates, and returns processing.
• Build the reverse-logistics and customer-service escalation path so fan issues get resolved quickly.
Ecommerce & Direct-to-Consumer
• Own the online store end to end: merchandising, launch calendar, product pages, pricing, and conversion.
• Run the drop strategy - timed releases, limited runs, presales, bundles, exclusives, and archive restocks.
• Partner with creative and marketing on launch assets, email and SMS, and paid support, and own the numbers that come out the other side.
• Own site analytics and reporting: AOV, conversion rate, sell-through, sell-out velocity, return rate, and contribution margin by SKU.
• Manage the platform and app stack, plus any agencies or contractors supporting it.
Touring & Live
• Build the merch plan for every tour cycle: arenas, festivals, international runs, and one-offs.
• Forecast per-head by market and venue, set the buy, and manage on-site inventory, restocks, and post-tour reconciliation.
• Negotiate venue merch splits and hall fees with promoters and buildings, and manage settlement.
• Hire, train, and manage tour merch managers and sellers; own on-site point-of-sale systems, counts, and loss prevention.
• Own VIP and meet-and-greet product, festival exclusives, and city-specific runs.
• Coordinate international freight and carnets for touring stock so it clears customs on schedule.
Product & Creative Development
• Build the seasonal and cycle-based product line with the artist and the creative team - apparel, headwear, accessories, print, vinyl and music packages, and collectibles.
• Bring category-expansion ideas along with the manufacturing reality of each one.
• Manage licensing and collaboration builds with brands and partners.
Business Ownership
• Own the merchandise and ecommerce P&L: revenue targets, margin targets, inventory investment, and cash cycle.
• Build the reporting the artist, management, and finance actually need, on a set cadence.
• Manage royalty and split accounting with the artist’s team and business managers.
• Build and lead the team as the business scales.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Required
• 7+ years in merchandise, supply chain, or direct-to-consumer operations, including at least 3 years leading vendors and owning a P&L.
• Direct experience sourcing and managing overseas manufacturers, including factory relationships you built yourself.
• Proven ownership of a multi-region fulfillment or 3PL network.
• Real ecommerce operating experience on Shopify or equivalent, with numbers you can speak to in detail.
• Music, entertainment, or high-velocity DTC brand background. Touring merch experience strongly preferred.
• Fluency in landed cost, duty and tariff mechanics, Incoterms, and customs documentation.
• Comfort with drop-culture speed: short lead times, immovable release dates, and sell-outs.
• Willingness to travel internationally for factory visits and to work tour dates, including nights and weekends during active cycles.
Strong Plus
• Experience with limited-run collectibles, trading cards, or collaboration product.
• Existing factory and 3PL relationships in APAC and the EU.
• Experience opening a new international market from scratch.
• Systems experience: ERP or inventory management implementation, demand planning tools.
• Experience managing a distributed team across time zones.
HOW YOU WILL BE MEASURED
• Gross and net merchandise revenue against target, per cycle and per tour.
• Contribution margin by SKU and by channel.
• Per-head at live dates versus forecast.
• On-time delivery against drop dates and tour dates.
• Inventory turn and end-of-cycle sell-through.
• Fulfillment SLA performance and fan-facing complaint rate.
Compensation is determined by experience, skills, and market.
