About Us
Dirty Mondays is a rock music and lifestyle brand operating across Los Angeles and Milan since 2011. We produce 3-8 live events per month across LA venues (Whisky a Go Go, Troubadour, Viper Room, Catch One, 1720, and more) spanning concerts (Dirty Gigs), rock parties, and our annual Dirty Fest festival. 25K+ Instagram followers, 750K monthly social reach, 50% female attendance.
The Role
We need 1-2 LA-based content creators to become our regular event shooters. You attend our shows (3-8/month), capture photo + video, and deliver selects and rough edits the next day. This is not a one-off gig. It is a recurring monthly retainer with a brand that will credit you on every post, feature your work to a growing audience, and build your live music portfolio.
What You Will Do
• Shoot photo (mirrorless camera or high-end phone) and video (phone is fine) at live events across LA, typically 3-5 hours per event
• Deliver 30-50 edited photo selects + 3-5 raw video clips (30-60 seconds each) within 24 hours of the event
• Capture content across specific categories: performers on stage, crowd energy, audience portraits, backstage moments, fashion/style details, brand visibility shots
• Post 3-5 Stories from the floor during the event (real-time, raw, backstage pass feel)
• Work from a visual guidelines brief that defines the DM aesthetic (provided on hire)
What We Are Looking For
• Based in Los Angeles with reliable transportation to venues across the city
• Portfolio showing live music, nightlife, or event photography with a raw, high-energy aesthetic (not studio, not weddings, not corporate)
• Comfortable shooting in dark venues with no controlled lighting. You know how to get clean shots at ISO 3200+ or you know how to make grain look intentional
• Can shoot both photo and video. We do not need two separate people. You think in content, not in 'photography' or 'videography' as separate disciplines
• Eye for style, fashion, and the kind of people who make a crowd look aspirational, not just documented
• Fast turnaround. We need selects the next day, not next week. You cull and light-edit on the go
• Already part of or familiar with the LA live music scene. You go to shows. You understand the energy
• Age 20-30 preferred (not a hard requirement, but you need to blend into the crowd, not stand out as 'the photographer')
Equipment
Minimum: iPhone 15 Pro or later. Preferred: mirrorless camera with a fast prime lens (f/1.4-1.8) for photo, plus iPhone for video and Stories. You do not need a gimbal, lighting rig, or any specialized equipment. If you can shoot handheld in a dark room and make it look good, you have what we need.
Compensation
Monthly retainer based on event volume (3-8 events/month). We are looking for someone who wants steady, recurring work with a growing brand, not a one-off day rate. Rate negotiable based on experience and event count. You will be credited on all published content across our channels.
How to Apply
• Link to your portfolio or Instagram (must include live music or event work)
• Tell us which LA music venues you have shot at or attended
• 3 photos from your portfolio that best represent your style in a dark, live-music environment
**Note: **We review portfolios, not resumes. If your work looks like DM, we will know immediately.
