Dream Machine Entertainment

Director of Production

Full time

Onsite • Miami, FL, USA

Category: Studio/Live Production

Bring your concert production expertise into the world of luxury events.
Dream Machine Entertainment is a South Florida-based entertainment and production company specializing in high-end weddings, corporate events, experiential activations, and private celebrations. We combine world-class entertainment with professional audio, lighting, video, staging, and creative production to deliver highly customized experiences.
We're looking for an experienced Director of Production to lead our technical production operations and help elevate what's possible in the private event world.
Our ideal candidate comes from a background in concert touring, festivals, artist production, or large-scale live events and is ready to put that experience to work in a different environment. This could be an incredible opportunity for someone who's spent years on the road and is ready to establish a home base in Florida without leaving the creativity, technology, and excitement of live production behind.
You'll bring concert-level technical expertise and production discipline to events where design, aesthetics, hospitality, and flawless execution are equally important.
The Role
This is a senior leadership position with ownership of Dream Machine's entire technical production operation, from the earliest stages of creative planning and sales through event execution and load-out.
You'll collaborate with our sales team to develop production concepts, recommend appropriate technical systems, and turn ambitious creative ideas into executable plans.
Once an event is booked, you own the production from start to finish.
Beyond individual events, you'll be responsible for our production calendar, technical crew, equipment inventory, subcontractors, and logistics, helping build the systems and standards that allow Dream Machine to continue growing.
Key Responsibilities
Creative + Technical Production
• Partner with the sales team to design and scope lighting, audio, video/LED, staging, and production solutions.
• Translate creative references and event concepts into practical technical designs.
• Advise on lighting design, stage builds, system specifications, rigging, power, and production feasibility.
• Conduct site visits and collaborate with planners, designers, venues, and agencies.
• Develop technical plans, equipment lists, production budgets, and labor requirements.
Event Execution
• Take ownership of production once an event is sold.
• Plan and manage all technical requirements from preproduction through load-out.
• Coordinate production schedules, crew calls, trucking, equipment prep, and venue logistics.
• Oversee technical execution, troubleshooting, safety, and quality control.
• Ensure every event meets Dream Machine's standards for production excellence and client experience.
Production Operations
• Manage the entire Dream Machine production calendar across multiple simultaneous events.
• Schedule and oversee freelance technicians, engineers, stagehands, and production crew.
• Determine which equipment and systems to deploy for each event.
• Oversee inventory management, warehouse organization, equipment maintenance, and readiness.
• Serve as the primary contact for rental houses, staging vendors, LED suppliers, and other production subcontractors.
• Manage production costs, labor budgets, and equipment utilization to protect event profitability.
• Develop efficient workflows, processes, and technical standards as the company grows.
Who We're Looking For
• Significant professional experience in concert touring, live entertainment, technical production, or event production leadership.
• Deep working knowledge of professional lighting, audio, video/LED, staging, and production systems.
• Strong understanding of technical riders, show advancing, rigging, power distribution, and production logistics.
• Experience managing technical teams, freelancers, vendors, and complex event calendars.
• Ability to design and specify appropriate systems across multiple technical disciplines.
• Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to independently manage competing priorities.
• A creative eye and an appreciation for event aesthetics, architectural lighting, and thoughtful production design.
• The confidence to communicate with everyone from touring engineers and production vendors to luxury wedding planners and corporate clients.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with exceptional attention to detail.
You don't need to be the best lighting programmer, audio engineer, and video technician in the room. But you do need the expertise to understand all three disciplines, make informed technical decisions, lead specialists, and take responsibility for the final result.
Why Dream Machine?
This is an opportunity to take the skills you've developed on concerts, tours, and major live productions and apply them to a growing, creatively driven business serving the high-end private event market.
Instead of constantly moving from city to city, you'll have a home base in South Florida, working on a diverse calendar of luxury weddings, corporate productions, brand activations, and unique private events.
You'll have the autonomy to shape how we approach production, build our technical team, develop vendor relationships, influence equipment investments, and establish the systems that support our next stage of growth.
We're looking for someone who wants to do more than manage shows. We want someone who wants to build and lead a production department.
Location: South Florida
Employment: Full-Time, Salaried
Schedule: Flexible, including evenings and weekends as required by the event calendar
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
