POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Content Editor and Manager will be a critical part of the storytelling team, working alongside Steve and management. The focus will be on documenting, creating, and amplifying content across Steve Hackman's expansive body of work, including recorded music, live performances and lifestyle work. This position is at the center of discussions around all strategic planning for content capture/publishing and specifically manages and implements the content calendar. This position is also responsible for posting across Steve’s social platforms. Finally, this position is responsible for the intake, organization, selecting and archiving of all incoming media assets, ensuring they are readily available for use. This role requires an individual who is media/content savvy, fluent in all current best practices for media capture and distribution, aware of media trends, has a keen ear for music, possesses an understanding of both classical and contemporary audiences, and the agility to document everything from symphony rehearsals to celebrity collaborations. You will be the lead for the entire content lifecycle: capture, editing, posting, and organization. **
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Live Content Capture & On-Site Execution
• Direction Execution: Translate high-level direction from the artist and management team into tangible, high-quality video and photo assets, covering everything from conducting nuances to celebrity collaborations.
• Strategic Capture: Execute the content plans developed in conjunction with Steve and management team, ensuring all necessary shots, angles, and moments are captured during rehearsals, orchestral performances (national and international), recording sessions, and high-profile collaborations (often evenings/weekends).
• Trend Execution: Capture short-form video assets (Reels, TikToks) that take advantage of current audience trends and alignment with content strategy and content calendar.
• Beyond all of this, your job will be to make sure we never miss the opportunity to capture an important moment; using your understanding of our audience and the platforms we reach them on, you’ll strategically be capturing and filming these moments, with foresight on how the content will be leveraged across different platforms, or for one specially.
Rapid Editing & Preparation
• Directed Editing: Execute fast, high-quality video editing (in-app and using professional software) strictly according to the specs and direction by Steve and the management team.
• Make Selects: Perform initial selects of media (both video and photo) to bring to Steve. Take comments, feedback and make new edits. Prepare all content for final distribution channels.
• Quality Control: Ensure all captured content meets high aesthetic and technical standards suitable for a world-class artist.
Social Content Calendar and Posting
• In conjunction with Steve and management, develop a short-medium term social media posting calendar.
• Stay at the forefront of digital trends and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for brand growth and innovation within the social space. Gaining insights from management and the market, be certain that social media calendar and content type takes advantage of data, most current trends and best practices.
• For all social media posts, working alongside Steve and keeping mindful of current social media trends and styles, draft captions for Steve’s approval.
• Following successful content capture, editing and approvals, post content to social platforms in accordance with the content calendar.
• Interface and meet with presenters and external partners to coordinate and leverage collaborative efforts and maximize visibility.
Media Organization & Archiving **
• Master Archiving: Systematically organize, tag, and archive all captured photo and video media immediately following events, including making initial selects for press and social and organizing accordingly. This is a crucial function to build a comprehensive, easily searchable digital asset library for all future projects.
• Asset Management: Maintain and manage digital file structures related to specific works (e.g., Beethoven X Beyoncé, Jingle Bell Heist), ensuring organized access for the entire team, including the management and outside partners.
• Equipment Management: Maintain and manage all content capture equipment (mobile devices, cameras, audio recorders, etc.).
