You know Breakaway Festival. Now get inside the label.
Breakaway Projects is the independent label arm of one of the largest electronic music festival brands in the country. We sign artists, run campaigns, and build culture, and this fall, we're bringing in a small team of interns to do it with us.
• Run social accounts built around EDM culture
• Pitch artists directly in A&R meetings
• Help craft marketing and content material for signed label artists
• Research DSP pitching and playlist partnership opportunities
• Shape live content with your trend calls and campaign ideas
Roughly 16 to 20 hours a week, with in-office days in Santa Monica twice a week and the rest remote on your own time. You'll get a chance to explore all aspects of how a label runs, not just one lane.
Who We're Looking For
One real strength and the willingness to learn is enough.
• Content creator who can film and edit short form video (CapCut or similar)
• Ear for what's upcoming, you hear a track early and know it's about to move
• Data lover who can read streaming numbers and engagement to back up a call
• Deeply online and quick to spot trends across TikTok and Instagram
• Real taste in electronic and dance music
• Clear communicator who shows up and follows through
What You'll Be Doing
Content & Social Film, edit, and post across all four accounts, and help build out the visual identity of each.
A&R Scouting Flag emerging artists each week with links, momentum signals, and why they fit the Breakaway sound.
Indie Playlisting Partnerships Research playlist opportunities and pitch angles across streaming platforms to help our artists get placed.
Marketing & Trends Bring fresh content angles and trend calls to the table weekly. Strong ideas get executed.
