Semaphore is seeking a NY/NJ based Management Coordinator with experience in the music industry and a passion for underground music. This is primarily an admin and data mgmt role handling tour promotion and production, and metadata management. This position is targeted towards candidates who want to become artist managers. This is a hybrid role (one day in office + 1-2 hours WFH, daily) and would start as part time. The role has the potential to grow into a full time role for the ideal employee / candidate, after an initial six months.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• **Tour Travel Booking & Scheduling - **booking flights, hotels, using client calendars
• **Tour Prod & Marketing - **advancing shows & tours, liaising w/ tour managers, promoters & venue PM’s. Distributing show assets to artists and teams. Publishing artist tour dates to touring platforms. Mta Biz Suite coordination w/ advertisers & promoters
• **SoMe & Content / Asset Mgmt - **collect, organize and distribute artist assets
• **Copyright Management - **Collate and organize metadata across roster. Register catalogs and sets w/ PRO’s
• **Fan Communities - **organizing and informing roster fan communities online on Dscord, Rddit, TTok, etc. ** **
BASIC SKILLS & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU MUST HAVE TO APPLY:
• You **MUST LIVE IN NY OR NJ CURRENTLY ** & have the right to work in the U.S.
• You must own a macbook and a smart phone
• You must be organized to an unusual degree and have devotion to small details
• Excellent, clear & consistent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills – across all platforms, frequently simultaneously - not generated on Chaptgpt
• You are personable, and able to communicate with human beings irl
• You are able to send, action and receive upwards of 20 emails a day and keep your inbox organized at all times - while not using Chapgpt
• Experience, curiosity and ambition in pioneering underground music w/ a knowledge or awareness of our roster
• Ability to keep track of several ongoing projects with precise attention to detail and follow through, and the ability to prioritize
• GSuite & Microsoft Skillz (Excel, Sheets), Mailchimp, Slack, Dropb*x, googlecal
• You must know how to build spreadsheets & write formulas in xls
• Expertise with social media ads, including Metabiz Suite
• You can keep track of your own WFH hours and report transparently on projects you’ve worked on each day
• You are discreet, reliable and level-headed
• You are a person of your word - you do what you say and say what you do, 100% of the time - without using Chatgpt
• You are a motivated self-starter that knows when to ask questions and when to source the answers yourself
• You finish the projects you start & improve upon their fundamentals for next time
• You are active in the NYC underground & alternative music communities both online & at shows
PREVIOUS IDEAL EXPERIENCE
• Artist Mgmt experience at a firm, or as an independent
• Graphic &/or web design skills on a variety of platforms, including video/photo editing & designing content
• Dog walking experience
• Copywriting, label copy or metadata experience at a publisher or PRO
• Master Tour experience
• Experience in live music - either at a venue or a booking agency
