About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Apparel Product Manager to support the production and rollout of merchandise for a prominent DJ’s brand. This is a part-time, remote role ideal for someone who thrives on organization, communication, and keeping multiple moving projects on track — from art file to finished product to online drop.
You'll be the key link between the creative side of the business and the manufacturers bringing that vision to life, ensuring every drop hits its deadline, looks right, and is ready for sale on time.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturer & Production Liaison
• Serve as liaison between the artist's team, clothing designers and manufacturers, managing art files, proofs, and production issues
• Manage domestic and international vendor relationships and negotiate costing/timelines
• Select appropriate manufacturer for each item and provide art files and project direction
• Relay file issues to the designer for correction and flag manufacturer concerns back to the team with a recommended course of action
• Provide size breakdowns for each production run based on historical sales data and prior orders
• Promptly review and route proofs, test prints/embroideries, and sample photos for team approval
• Check in proactively on project progress to prevent stalls
Timeline Management
• Maintain line sheets, Work in Progress document, and the merch tracker with all active projects, art deadlines, status changes, size breakdowns, and sample/bulk production tracking
• Troubleshoot bottlenecks to ensure prototypes and final samples are delivered on schedule
• Coordinate and plan upcoming merchandise drops with the team based on projected item completion
• Advise on production timelines, working backward from the desired in-hand date to set clear deadlines
• Monitor art and production progress as deadlines approach and flag timeline risks early
• Advise on shipping method tradeoffs (sea vs. air) to help balance cost and speed for each drop
Product Launch Support
• Assist in compiling product images, specs, size guides, and other assets needed for online product builds and collection launches
Sample Coordination
• Facilitate and track distribution of physical samples for internal review, promo photography, and other needs
Reporting & Organization
• Prepare a detailed weekly recap email summarizing the status of all active projects
• Prepare a prioritized list of items needing action ahead of the weekly team call
Requirements
Experience
• 3-5 years of experience in product development, buying, or merchandising within the apparel industry
Technical Skills
• Basic understanding of garment construction, product costing, and retail math
Software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
Soft Skills
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent verbal/written communication for daily cross-functional and overseas collaboration
• Comfortable working independently in a small, fast-moving remote team
Nice to Have
Familiarity with apparel manufacturing timelines and processes (screen printing, embroidery, cut & sew)
• Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify) and product page builds
• Understanding of import shipping methods (sea vs. air freight)
