Red Octave is looking for a self-motivated A&R Research Analyst to join our remote A&R Research and Analytics team.
**This is a commission-only independent contractor role open to candidates worldwide. **Your primary focus will be identifying and submitting qualified leads — music artists, producers, songwriters, independent record labels, distribution companies, and publishing companies — that may be a strong fit for funding opportunities facilitated by Red Octave. You will not be responsible for closing deals; our team handles outreach, evaluation, and closing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
→ Research and identify music artists, producers, songwriters, independent record labels, distribution companies, publishing companies, and publishing administration companies whose catalogs or content may be suitable for funding opportunities
→ Submit qualified leads in writing with relevant background information
→ Support verification of publicly available data — platform metrics, revenue figures, distribution details — where requested
→ Stay current on trends in independent music, streaming, and publishing
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
→ Strong knowledge of the independent music landscape — artists, labels, distributors, and publishing
→ Ability to spot catalog value and talent through research using streaming platforms, social media, and industry tools
→ Detail-oriented and organized when compiling and submitting leads
→ Self-directed, comfortable working remotely without daily oversight
→ Background in A&R, catalog research, artist management, or distribution is a plus — but not required
COMPENSATION
This is a commission-only, independent contractor role. Commission is earned on qualifying closed deals that result from approved lead submissions. There is no base salary, hourly rate, or guaranteed minimum earnings. Specific commission rates and terms are provided in the contractor agreement upon selection.
Estimated annual earnings are based on deal volume and advance size and will vary. High performers with strong research output and industry awareness have the potential to significantly exceed the estimated range.
