About Green Tea Distribution
Green Tea Distribution is where music distribution meets real artist development.
Built by the team behind Mind of a Genius Records (ZHU, Gallant, THEY., Mindchatter), we help independent artists grow like signed artists — without giving up ownership.
We combine:
• Premium music distribution
• 1-on-1 strategy & release planning
• Playlist & industry access
• Ongoing A&R feedback
We’re growing fast and looking for someone who understands both artists and the business to help us scale.
Role Overview
We’re hiring an A&R / Artist Development Manager to work directly with our sales lead to convert and onboard new artists.
This is not a traditional sales role.
You’ll be speaking with artists daily — understanding their vision, identifying gaps in their strategy, and helping them see how GTD can actually move their career forward.
You should be equally comfortable:
• Giving real feedback on music and branding
• Talking rollout strategy and positioning
• Closing high-intent artists into paid plans
What You’ll Do
• Take inbound calls with artists (warm leads from marketing + outbound)
• Run A&R-style strategy conversations (not scripted sales calls)
• Identify serious artists vs hobbyists and prioritize accordingly
• Close new users into GTD subscription plans
• Onboard new members and ensure strong first-week activation
• Provide ongoing light-touch A&R feedback and direction
• Work closely with Barry and the team to refine pitch, funnel, and targeting
Who You Are
• 3+ years experience in music industry (A&R, management, label, or artist services)
• **MUST **Love sales / artist onboarding to the mission behind GTD, (sales experienced preferred)
• Strong understanding of:
• Release strategy
• Streaming ecosystem (Spotify, Apple, editorial, etc.)
• Artist branding and positioning
• Naturally persuasive — but not “salesy”
• Can build trust quickly with artists
• Organized, responsive, and comfortable handling volume
Bonus Points
• Existing network of artists, managers, or producers
• Experience selling music services or working at a distributor/label
• Comfortable giving direct, honest creative feedback
Compensation
• Base + commission on closes
• High earning potential based on performance
• Opportunity to grow into a senior A&R / leadership role as we scale
Why This Role Matters
Most artists don’t fail because of their music — they fail because they lack strategy, feedback, and the right team.
You’ll be the person who helps bridge that gap.
