Job Description – Accounting Manager
Compensation: $90,000 – $100,000 annually
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our finance team. This is a hands-on role responsible for owning the monthly close, managing day-to-day accounting operations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to grow into a future leadership role
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow).
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
• Assist CFO in reconciling actuals against forecast, particularly in overhead expense categories.
Accounts Payable & Expense Management
• Review and approve vendor invoices to the appropriate GL accounts and departments.
• Manage AP aging schedule and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Utilize Ramp to monitor and process expense transactions.
Accounts Receivable & Collections
• Prepare and send customer invoices accurately and on time.
• Maintain AR aging schedule and assist with collections follow-up as needed.
• Record customer payments and ensure proper application in QuickBooks.
Audit & Compliance
• Support CFO in preparing schedules and documentation for the annual audit.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP accounting principles.
• Maintain organized documentation and internal controls to support compliance.
** Cross-Functional Support**
• Partner with department heads to address accounting-related questions
• Assist CFO with ad hoc analyses, reconciliations, and reporting projects.
• Contribute to process improvements and help design scalable workflows as the company grows.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including preparation of financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, and Ramp (or similar accounts payable and expense management platforms)
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with department leaders.
