Video Editor & Producer

Full-time

Onsite • New York, NY, USA

$70,000–80,000 per annum

Founded in 2001, Resident Advisor (RA) is one of the world's longest-running music media brands and a cornerstone of the dance, electronic and DJ ecosystem. The site's audience of over 6 million monthly users is drawn in by a combination of news, editorial, club listings and ticketing, RA-branded events at venues and festivals worldwide, original films and a weekly mix series that has run for 18 years.

Purpose of the role:

This role will help RA grow around the world through first-class video material. Based in New York City, the Video Editor & Producer will contribute to RA’s North American storytelling through ideas, video assistance and content creation.

Working closely with the Content Production Lead, Lead Producer/Director, Reviews & Curation Lead, North American Editor, GM North America and wider leadership, this role will deliver projects that help RA’s content team reach its global and North American targets.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist in the production of RA’s video content, working across projects of different scales and lengths within the Film and Content teams.

• Produce and edit quickly without sacrificing quality, balancing pace, craft and clear storytelling.

• Work closely with the Content Production Lead and Lead Producer/Director to prioritise, execute and deliver projects.

• Bring speed, ingenuity and creativity to the next era of RA’s mid- and long-form video on YouTube.

• Collaborate across US and EU time zones with RA’s Editorial, Design and Brand teams.

• Shoot and produce North America-focused short-form content for RA’s social channels.

• Contribute new ideas for North America-focused storytelling on a weekly basis.

• Work alongside RA’s Reviews & Curation Lead to reinvigorate the look of curation for global electronic music fans.

• Support the team in delivering projects across North America, including Los Angeles and CDMX.

We’re looking for:

• An end-to-end content producer, editor and videographer with a portfolio of multimedia, cross-platform content examples.

• 3+ years’ experience publishing on YouTube, primarily, as well as Instagram and TikTok.

• A 360° content producer/editor who can turn ideas into compelling content for any platform.

• An excellent multimedia storyteller who prioritises hooks, structure and clarity.

• Experience across Adobe Suite, including Premiere Pro and Photoshop, plus Figma, CapCut and in-app publishing tools.

• Motion graphics experience is helpful but not essential.

• Comfortable presenting short-form content on camera preferable but not essential.

• A self-starter who is comfortable working across time zones and can be trusted to execute briefs independently.

• An organised and collaborative working style, with comfort taking feedback and iterating quickly.

• Deep curiosity for electronic music and the communities that shape it, especially the diverse scenes emerging across North America.

What we offer you:

• Generous annual leave policies aimed at promoting work-life balance.

• Flexibility in working arrangements, offering hybrid or remote work options based on role requirements and location.

• Matching pension schemes and/or 401k.

• Comprehensive staff wellbeing initiatives, featuring regular activities and workplace programmes to support mental and physical health. This includes discounted Classpass memberships, and custom-fitted earplugs.

• Company-led social events, team lunches, and discounts on RA merch.

• Paid annual volunteering allowance, encouraging contributions to community projects and charities you care about.

• Regular company-wide Q&A’s with senior leadership, along with ongoing virtual educational training sessions for all staff.

• A transparent internal company culture committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion (see: https://ra.co/about/diversity).

• Active involvement in community projects within the electronic music community (see: https://ra.co/about/community).
