ABOUT THE ROLE

Lotion is looking for an Editorial Content Creator to research, write, design and edit content for Lotion Magazine's Instagram and other social media platforms.

You will create Instagram carousels, short-form videos, graphics and editorial posts covering underground music, artists, emerging scenes, internet culture and Lotion events.

This role requires a strong existing knowledge of hyperpop, digicore, underground internet music communities, indie electronica / indie sleaze revival and US/UK UG scenes. You should already actively follow artists, collectives, labels, platforms and emerging trends within these communities.

This is not a general journalism role. We are specifically looking for someone who already understands these subcultures and has experience creating content within them or closely related scenes and is able to produce engaging social media content.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Strong knowledge of hyperpop, digicore, underground internet music, indie electronica / indie sleaze and US/UK UG scenes

• Experience creating engaging social media content specifically around these subcultures or closely related underground music and internet scenes

• Experience creating Instagram carousels and visual editorial posts

• Strong short-form video editing skills

• Strong graphic design skills

• Strong research and writing skills, particularly around artists, emerging music scenes, internet communities and subcultures

• Ability to identify interesting artists, stories, releases and emerging trends and turn them into engaging social media content

• Knowledge of fashion and streetwear connected to these scenes is a bonus

Please submit 2 to 3 relevant examples, including work such as Instagram carousels, researched or reported Reels/TikToks, artist interviews, profiles, scene or trend coverage, editorial videos, written articles or other published editorial content.

Photography, videography or artist campaign content alone is not sufficient. We need to see examples that demonstrate your research, writing and editorial abilities alongside your content creation skills.
