Music Producer Educator Trainee

£70 per 1-1.5 hr session

We are seeking freelance Trainee Music Producer Educators for Music Producer Club in Manchester.

Job Title: Trainee Producer Educator

Location: Manchester/ Greater Manchester  & Bolton

Reporting to: MPC Programme Manager

**Contract Type:  **We are seeking a freelance trainee to help run music production workshops in schools,  half-term projects (5 days), and regular after-school activity (weekly sessions across 10 weeks). Most urgently we need a trainee at a school on Wednesday afternoons in Bolton; please do not apply if you are not available for this timeslot.

Compensation:  1-1.5 hour hour sessions £70 / Weekly rate for half-term projects £700

**About Music Producer Club **

Music Producer Club brings the joy of music production to the classroom or youth centre. We deliver high quality, music technology led workshops that connect to the genres young people love. In the process, we nurture young people's talent and creativity, responding to their digital music making ambitions, while supporting their technical curiosity as they learn and grow. At the same time we're training the teachers and developing the next generation of 'producer educators'

About You

You may be a music graduate or someone who is working in the field of music production/composition/live electronic performance who is interested in teaching the next generation. You’ll have a desire to learn delivery skills alongside our project leaders and support students to grow in confidence and creativity. 

We are on a mission to raise the profile of electronic music in the curriculum and create opportunities for young people to learn industry relevant skills. We do this by working with a team of lead and trainee producers who are actively working in the industry and who can bring real life experience to their teaching practice. 

Main Responsibilities of the Role

• To support and deliver high quality music technology based workshops and lessons alongside the Lead Producer Educator

• Support students music development working with  Ableton and performance based MIDI & Push instruments. 

• Support teachers with music technology through regular clubs and sessions.

• Support students' musical development and  delivery of student performance showcases

• Compile and complete project reports and evaluations

Candidate Knowledge, Skills and Experience**

• A passion and awareness of electronic music forms and genres

• You may be pursuing a career in music production/composition other related fields which you can share with students.

• Aged 18 and over.

• A keen interest in supporting children and young people to realise their potential and a desire to develop teaching skills with CDR’s curriculum. 

• Must hold or be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check and uphold excellent safeguarding practice (training will be given)

• Excellent time keeping and organisational skills.

• Enthusiastic and supportive approach to working with young people.

• Knowledge and experience of music production techniques and practice

• Digital audio workstations (DAW) experience using Ableton Live, Logic Pro X or equivalent

• Microphone setup and recording experience. (desirable)

• Willingness to learn new technologies and take up new responsibilities when necessary

• Skilled in the use of online project management tools such as e.g. Google Workspace

• Willingness to learn from and support the lead tutors across the project.
